Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and gravity take a toll on a woman’s breasts. As skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. Mastopexy, or breast lift is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. For many, a breast lift alone gives the desired results. Others opt to have a breast lift followed by the insertion of implants.
The ideal candidates for breast lift are women who:
- Want their breasts repositioned into a more pleasing position for improved contour and shape
- Are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in their expectations

What to expect at your consultation:
Plan on spending between one and two hours at our office. During this time, we will go over your medical history and Dr. Whitlock will perform a quick breast exam. Next, Dr. Whitlock will take some measurements then discuss with you variables that may affect the procedure such as age, the size and shape of your breasts, condition of your skin, and whether an implant is advisable. He will also discuss where the nipple and areola will be positioned during the procedure.
After the consultation, you will meet with our patient care coordinator to review your quote, discuss financing and if you are ready, schedule your surgery and pre-op appointment. Your quote will include all of your pre and post-op clinic visits, surgeon fee, operating room, anesthesia, and bra. The only items not included are your prescriptions.
